Random dr= 4+3=7, Union Night March
Leader transfers: Ewell to Rodes. Sedgwick to Ricketts.
Pre turn: I just hope to get Barlow and Griffin out of harms way. After that it's just a general advance into Caroline and Orange counties. I'll rest Sedgwick in the hope he can forage successfully.
Pre turn: Longstreet cut off Sedgwick's advance. Ewell and Hill will work back but priority is to finish II\V corps as they come. Stuart stay in front of Burnside.
Init roll: U6 C4 USA
Init #1: Activate Hancock (Barlow)
dr= 2+1= 3
Barlow extended dr= 3+1=4, ok
Grant, Hancock, Barlow f2 3122
Wanted first init-thought I could sweep through Griffin to Hancock-maybe I can still catch Hancock later.
Init roll: C3 U2 CSA
Init #2: Activate Anderson
dr= 5+1= 6
extended dr= 2 ok, f2 2820
Might as well play it safe and be sure I can hit and still move.
Init roll: U4 C4 CSA
Init #3: Activate Ewell (Rodes)
dr= 1+2= 3, Rodes f1
vs Griffin: hasty -1, ratio 15:7 = +1, artillery NE(dem-1), tactical +2, flank +3 = +5 overall
C5 a result
U2 3DR* result, Griffin loses a manpower in the retreat. f4 disorg dem-2 lose 1 ammo mnlvl 7 retreats to 2420
Ewell, Rodes continue to 3021
That worked.
Init roll: C1 U1 CSA
Day ends?
Grant dr= 4, day ends.
Getty, Ricketts, JI Gregg, and Davies forage successfully.
Kershaw is the only CSA unit that forages successfully, the rest become disorganized.
Not much I could this turn! Thankfully I was in counties where the foraging is easier than Orange or Spotsylvania. About the only good thing this turn for me was that only Kershaw foraged ok.
Thought of trying to extend the day as he gets healthier and has a better chance at foraging -Im all at F1-but better to end the day and hope I get the jump.
