Random event dr= 6+2= 10, Confederate Command Paralysis
Leader transfers: Burnside to Potter, Warren to Griffin, Grant to Wright, Hancock to Gibbon.
Pre turn: I intend to have Hancock defend my rear while Sedgwick and Warren advance on Richmond. My fear at this point is that Scott will clear Richmond before I can get there and occupy the permanent forts. I don't relish the prospect of attacking occupied forts to enter the city.

Scott has done me a favor by starting to entrench his units. I don't intend to attack him, I'm moving south towards Richmond so he'll have less fatigues to chase me this turn. Warren will move in between Sedgwick and Hancock, Hancock will defend the rear while Sedgwick and Warren deal with the Richmond defenses.
I concur with Paul's thoughts ... right after Wilcox cleared out the Union cavalry from Richmond, Scott had at least a reasonable chance of strengthening the defenses of his capital city. BR Johnson and Pickett could have both been moved north to strengthen the line of forts. And Stuart could have moved there as well instead of this next move...

I'm giving up on attacking Heth. I've managed to push him away from the depot but it cost me a lot of manpower to do it. I wish I could have routed him, he wouldn't have been able to attack anymore if he was demoralized and out of ammo.

JI Gregg forages successfully.
Haven't done the math yet, but I'm betting Paul has enough points to win now ... even if he gets unlucky and the game ends on May 31.
